After several years of professional singing and acting in the entertainment
industry, Kristoph sold everything he owned and bought a one way ticket to
Europe- seeking depth, integrity and meaning in life. It was there, in the
Alps of Southern Germany (Mittenwald), after several weeks of sincere searching,
fasting, and prayer, that Kristoph experienced a powerful and life-altering spiritual
awakening - he returned to Canada and entered the Franciscans to live a life of
poverty, chastity, and obedience.
Mariette, likewise, had set out on a pilgrimage of faith, seeking to know God's
will for her. After spending a year in Quebec with the Franciscan sisters, she
returned to Winnipeg to begin a teaching career and to discern a vocation with
the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.
Mariette and Kristoph's meeting in Winnipeg was no less than the will of God
acting graciously in their lives, uniting two souls in search of God's vision for
them; God graciously brought them together, a union for which they both continue
to be grateful.
Since then Mariette and Kristoph have earned several degrees in Theology and
Spiritual, as well as preached retreats for over 10 years.
In 2004, Kristoph and Mariette founded Western Canada's newest centre for
Spiritual Retreat and growth - Sanctum Retreat. To learn more visit

Above all, however, Mariette and Kristoph see themselves as
students of life, and they both continue to write, produce, and perform
recordings that attempt to explore the deeper spiritual currents of the human
condition. Mariette, Kristoph and their son Joshua Francesco make their home in
the foothills of the majestic Canadian Rockies at Cochrane, Alberta, Canada.
